Livin' on a prayer
This is all so messed up. This is exactly what I hated about high school. We spend so much of our time creating relationships and making friends, and then what do we do? We leave. Some people we see again; some people we talk to. But basically, we all scatter again. Where's the fun in that?
It's easy senior year to get caught up in all this. There's the trauma of the constant questions, the never-ending need for plans. You have to have your main plans, your back-up plans, your contingency plans for your back up plans. And everybody wants to know about them, as soon as you meet them.
"Oh, you're a senior? Where are you going to grad school?" If I could tell you where I was going right now, I would be a much, much calmer person. And that's always the poorly worded question, always.
*sigh* I'll get there somehow, I'm sure. And when I know where, "I'm sure you'll be the first to know."
